For one hours work, that's very nice. I'm curious to know what brushes you used. I also use Painter. ^_^

All it needs are the scars around were her chin meets her neck .

yerffej >> I only used 2 brushes for this - palette knife, and grainy water. Grainy water is used first to sketch out the figure and to lay down big blobs of base colour, and then the palette knife is used for the finer details such as the eyes, mouth and strands of hair and highlights :)

Hunchy>>Good idea about the scars! Thanks for the suggesstion, I will update this image before adding it to my "official" portfolio :)

Very cool work, and to think this was made in one hour... Nice indeed.

The reason why this piece came out so quickly is because I churned out about 5-6 other quick portraits before it, so by the time I reached this one I was already in "fast mode" :) I was trying to come up with faster techniques for commercial work. Another important thing is to get your colours right from the very beginning - its too time consuming to go back and correct colours in the end :) And its always helpful to have a mirror in front of you for quick reference.

I really like this. The back lighting really suits the mood of the piece. the only crit I have is that the black area of the clothes takes up a lot of space in the composition. If not using less space, that area could possibly use more details.

+9, thanx for the message. :)

Such a quickly made painting, and such a fine result! It's nice and simple, yet it has all it needs. Well done!
